Membership categories and eligibility
There are eight categories of BETA membership.
Full Membership
Organisations primarily engaged in education and/or youth and educational travel.
Eligibility:
- have been in existence as a legal entity for a minimum of one full year;
- be involved in the business of providing or supplying services to the education and/or youth and educational travel market;
- be accredited and/or licensed to conduct business where such a requirement is mandatory.
Full Membership Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£0-£400k £295 + VAT
One time joining fee £95 + VAT
£401k–£1m £595 + VAT
One time joining fee £150 + VAT
£1m- £5m £795 + VAT
One time joining fee £200 + VAT
£5m- upwards £995 + VAT
One time joining fee £250 + VAT
Supplier Membership
Organisations not primarily engaged in education and or youth and educational travel.
Eligibility:
- be involved in the business of supplying services to Full members;
- be accredited and/or licensed to conduct business where such a requirement is mandatory.
Supplier Members Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£0-£400k £495 + VAT
One time joining fee £95 + VAT
£401k–£1m £795 + VAT
One time joining fee £150 + VAT
£1m- £5m £995 + VAT
One time joining fee £200 + VAT
£5m- upwards £1195 + VAT
One time joining fee £250 + VAT
Affiliate Membership
Eligibility:
- be a UK trade association of organisations primarily engaged in education and/or youth and educational travel and tourism programmes.
Alliliate Membership Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£2500 + VAT
One time joining fee £250 + VAT
Official Organisation Membership
Eligibility:
- be a Tourist Board, Regional Development Agency, Local Government Organisation, official student organisation and other public sector non-commercial or not-for-profit organisation.
Official Organisation Membership Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£995 + VAT
One time joining fee £250+ VAT
International Membership
Non UK based commercial companies and not-for-profit organisations who derive a substantial part of their income from education and or youth and educational travel.
Eligibility:
- have been in existence as a legal entity for a minimum of one full year;
- be non-UK based and involved in the business of providing or supplying services to the education and/or youth and educational travel market to or from the UK;
- be accredited and/or licensed to conduct business where such a requirement is mandatory.
International Membership Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£295 GBP per annum - plus the new ruling means we don't have to charge you VAT (value added tax) - so you save 17.5% immediately.
One time joining fee of £95 GBP for the first year - as a special incentive for international members to join BETA we are offering to waive this amount (£95 GBP) for new applications recevied before 30th September 2005.
International Association Membership
Eligibility:
- be a recognised international non-commercial association of organisations involved in education and/or youth, student and educational travel.
International Association Membership Subscription Fee
All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
£995 GBP - plus the new ruling means we don't have to charge you VAT (value added tax) - so you save 17.5% immediately.
One time joining fee: £250 GBP - as a special incentive for international members to join BETA we are offering to waive this amount (£250 GBP) for new applications recevied before 30th September 2005.
BETA Associate Partners
Eligibility:
- be involved in the business of supplying services to Full members;
- be accredited and/or licensed to conduct business where such a requirement is mandatory.

All new membership applications are subject to a one time joining fee.
If your organisation is a Registered Charitable Organisation or Institution you are entitled to a 25% discount off the appropriate annual BETA subscription fees.
