The emerging trend I see within my sector is more students wanting to go to more places. With the restrictions that were in place due to covid, I see students wanting to travel more so than ever before. Having the opportunity taken away has created a realisation of the importance to study abroad

Tell us a bit about your role and how it supports the business?

As the Coordinator of International Travel, I work with our Faculty to create and design a meaningful experience for our students who travel abroad.

What has been your career highlight to date?

There have been many highlights, but the one that stands out at this time is the experience of post-covid recovery. I have never seen such excitement by students to study abroad. We are sending out well over 2,000 worldwide.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Do what you love and love what you do!

If you were not working in this sector what other industry would you have pursued a career in?

International Healthcare

What are the emerging trends within your sector and have these changed since Covid-19?

Yes, absolutely! More students wanting to go to more places. With the restrictions that were in place due to covid, I see students wanting to travel more so than ever before. Having the opportunity taken away has created a realisation of the importance to study abroad.

What is coming up for your company in the next 12/18 months?

More Study Abroad programmes.

As an association what one thing do you think we have done that has made a real difference to you as a business?

Having the support of BETA has been tremendously important for me. BETA is an organisation that stands for something meaningful. When I’m looking for a supplier, I always look within the BETA organisation first.

In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges, threats and opportunities for youth, student and educational travel in the next few years?

The biggest threat or challenge would be another outbreak of an infectious disease. Students want to travel, they want to see and understand the world.
