Anglo Educational Services launch Culture Abroad Grant

Anglo Educational Services launch new Culture Abroad Grant in memory of Lizzie Lowy to allow students to live out their dream in London

I am so happy to have been able to pull something together like this in my mother’s memory. I miss her terribly every single day but often with a smile on my face due to the joy and happy times she brought me. I look forward to seeing the impact this initiative will have on those young people needing a helping hand to fulfill their dreams. Steve Lowy, CEO AES

Elizabeth Lowy was born in Co. Leitrim Ireland in 1944, and in tragic circumstances had to move at the age of 12 to the UK. Elizabeth, known as Lizzie, had an amazing cultural awareness, despite the difficult start she had in life

No matter where people were from or what religion they may have been, Lizzie was happy to sit down and chat with them over a cup of tea, or a glass of white wine. Sadly, Lizzie was taken from us suddenly in the summer of 2021, and her humour and compassion have been sorely missed by her family, friends and those who she became close to over the years.

Therefore, in her memory, we have decided to create the Lizzie Lowy Culture Abroad Grant. The grant is to support students that ordinarily may struggle to afford to have a culture/study abroad experience but are passionate about doing so. We will offer £1000 to each student to go towards their study and housing in London, to hopefully allow them to live out their dream. This will be offered to 5 students per year and can be used against a short-term program, a semester program or an internship program.
