Beds and Bars, led by CEO Keith Knowles, is proud to announce that it’s retained its prestigious Investors in People (IIP) Platinum Status, the highest ranking you can achieve.
Announced on 24th July 2019, the hostel and bar operator received the great news after a full business review by the IIP judges earlier this year. After achieving Platinum status back in 2016, the new IIP report for this year indicates several promising improvements and advancements at Beds and Bars in the past three years which has led to the business retaining Double Platinum. We’re one of only six organisations in the Hospitality Sector worldwide that has gained Platinum. Therefore, Beds and Bars has succeeded in maintaining its position as a truly great place to work.
In order to achieve the award, the company had to fully embrace the IIP mission statement, to unlock organisational success by realising the potential of their people. Those companies who ranked are truly outstanding, outperforming in their respective industries and value employees as the core of their business.
Keith Knowles, CEO of Beds and Bars, says
“it is a privilege to be ranked for double Platinum as a Hospitality business; a clear indication of the dedication and hard work the team has invested in the business. The standard of what we have achieved together has been heartwarming: we went from Gold, Champion, Platinum to Double Platinum in 2019. We’re proud to be recognised as one of the high performing and highly skilled organisations in the UK.”
The average benchmark result Beds and Bars achieved is 750, well above the IIP average of 724 and that of ‘Food and Beverage Service Activities’ at 715. The official IIP report really captures the essence of what makes Beds and Bars such a successful business and a great place to work.
The IIP assessment was conducted by Esther O’ Halloran who commented
“This is a great testament to you, the engaging culture that exists within your organisation and the people who work for you.”
To undertake the assessment, Esther spent 3 months with Beds and Bars which involved undertaking engagement surveys, interviewing employees, visiting our sites, speaking with the staff, attending senior management meetings and more. All Beds and Bars team members also completed an IIP survey.
Achieving Double Platinum status has been a significant milestone for the company as it continues the legacy of Keith’s late wife, Franca Knowles. It was Franca who steered Beds and Bars through the first Investors in People process, where she went on to win our first ever IIP award.
