Earlier in the month, Belushi’s Bars announced that it’s donating 100% of its profits from Australia Day to the bushfire relief appeal. We have chosen to donate the total profits to three charities who have been working hard on-the-ground to mitigate the effects of the fires. These are The Australian Salvation Army, Australian Red Cross and WWF Australia.
In addition to the Australia Day profits, Beds and Bars organised an internal fundraiser within the company in which our teams managed to raise just over £3,500. We will be donating these funds to the same three charities who are helping the people and wildlife in Australia who are most in need.
“Getting behind this cause is incredibly close to our hearts. We’d like to show our appreciation to all of the customers who helped us raise money in our bars on Australia Day. Your money is going to a good cause.”
“We’d also like to thank everyone within the company who has shown their support for our staff-based initiative. We’re overwhelmed with the generous donations.”
says Keith Knowles OBE, CEO of Beds and Bars, the umbrella company that owns Belushi’s.
The day is traditionally one of Belushi’s largest trading days of the year where the bars host annual Australia Day parties and events in some of Europe’s major cities. See imagery attached.
St Christopher’s Inns hostels, also owned by the Beds and Bars group is also saying thank you to the firefighters, volunteers and emergency services of Australia by offering them 20% off at any of its accommodations across the UK and Europe when they find time for a well-needed break in the future.
