CODE pods have landed in Dublin!

CODE Pod Hostel has recently jumped across the Irish Sea to the city centre of Dublin. The hostel currently trading as Jacobs Inn Dublin, will be transformed into a brand-new CODE Pod Hostel.

CODE is an urban concept designed to re-invent the hostel experience at an attractive price point in vibrant city locations. They’ve taken the Japanese pod concept and developed it for the luxury hostel market. The pods are designed with the emphasis on privacy, security and a great sleep.

The first hostel opened in 2014 in Edinburgh and it featured the pod beds as one of the first pod hostels in the UK.  Recently they’ve opened two trial pod rooms at their property in Dublin, 4 years after the first pods were built in Edinburgh. Based on the customer reviews and staff comments and they’ve improved their first design and created the pod 2.0!

Convenience was one of the focus points.

How annoying is it when you are cosy in your pod and you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night? So, finally you muster all your courage to climb down the steps only to discover that the bathroom is occupied because someone has been taken a shower for ages! The rooms in Dublin has an illuminated bathroom sign for when it’s occupied, so all you have to do is stick your head out of the pod to check!

A few other convenient features of our rooms are free digital code operated lockers, USB chargers on all sockets and in the pods, reading and mood lights, automatic blue night lights, black-out curtains for all the pods, mattresses with 2 grades of foam layers for comfort and to keep you cool during the night.

Work in progress

CODE Dublin is scheduled to have further renovations starting from September 2018 and the renovations are scheduled to be completed around April 2019. Which will be celebrated with a grand opening!

Renovation works will start shortly on the newest addition in Edinburgh. The building is a former court house on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. It will have cool private rooms made of the prison cells and more of the buildings history will be used in the design. The hostel is due to open in 2019!

Further expansion

Inspired by their customers’ reviews, CODE is taking the concept to lots of new cities in Europe. If you’re inspired about CODEs concept and want to work with them or have any sites that could work for CODE, the door/capsule entrance is always open!
