ICEF committed to agent training with launch of ICEF Academy

New e-learning platform puts international student recruitment best practices directly into the hands of education counsellors

Building upon an existing twelve-year legacy of agent training, ICEF Academy brings professional development into a brand new platform, designed to enhance the learning experience for participants.

The foundation suite of five agent training course offerings, which include two professional and three destination-focused courses with a combined enrolment of more than 55,000 trainees worldwide, have all been expanded and updated in conjunction with the platform launch. As such, they remain the most authoritative and comprehensive training resources for agents in our industry.

Following ICEF’s recent acquisition of PIER from Australia-based International Education Services (IES), ICEF Academy also features the updated Education Agent Training Course (EATC), the world’s premier destination course for Australia with more than 60,000 trainees globally.

It comes as the Canada Course for Education Agents (CCEA) closes in on its 2,000th graduate, demonstrating the need for skilled and qualified agents is more important than ever.

ICEF CEO, Markus Badde, said: “Training and development is a key priority for ICEF as we witness major changes to the industry and to student mobility in general. There is a growing need for comprehensive and specialised training for education agents – in the interests of students, educators and the agents themselves. The launch of ICEF Academy marks the beginning of an exciting series of expansions to our professional development portfolio, with new courses and training resources to be added regularly.”

With its commitment to quality and professional standards in international student recruitment practices, ICEF first created the industry-immersive professional International Agent Training Course (IATC) in 2010.

Since then, it has produced the China Education Agent Course (CEAC), a Chinese language customised version of the IATC developed in cooperation with BOSSA (Beijing Overseas Study Service Association), and also offers a range of courses focused on popular study destinations such as Canada, the US, Ireland, and now Australia, each offering a comprehensive route for student recruitment agents to learn about the complexities of a rapidly changing industry.

These courses are free to study, and agents wishing to become certified and join the Qualified Education Agent (QEA) network can take a formal exam, joining over 16,000 certified education counsellors across the globe.

ICEF is the global market leader in business-to-business events and services for the international education sector. Over its 30-year history, ICEF has helped to shape international education through unrivalled networking events, market intelligence publications, training and accreditation services.
