Student.com and Uber have entered a collaboration to help students in a COVID-19 world. As the new academic year has begun, both companies have collaborated to provide students with an opportunity for safer travel & to feel settled whilst heading to university
Student.com – the world’s largest student accommodation marketplace – helps thousands of students each year to find their home away from home at university. Uber – which offers vehicles for hire, food delivery, package delivery, couriers and freight transportation – is a go-to for younger generations for booking transport and buying meals at the tap of an app, especially the student crowd. This collaboration to provide additional support around student safety was a natural choice for both companies.
From airport transfers to bedding and kitchen packs, ensuring students feel at home from their arrival is key as they settle in for their academic year. With the added uncertainty of COVID-19 – it was more important than ever to provide a convenient, flexible and trustworthy service to provide transport for student new arrivals. Knowing that many international students would be required to self-isolate, and understanding those few daunting first days and weeks at university for any new student, the option for Uber Eats vouchers enables students to feel safe and secure.
As both Student.com and Uber for Business have global coverage, the ability to roll out the partnership worldwide means students across the world will be able to benefit, with vouchers on offer on booking completion for Uber and Uber Eats.
Dan Baker, General Manager, EMEA at Student.com said
Student wellbeing is always front of mind for Student.com, and in a COVID-19 world we wanted to think of additional ways we can support students who book with us. The partnership with Uber is exciting, and we are looking forward to hearing from students the impact of safer travel/settling in to their academic year – and the peace of mind that it provides.
